Meandering from The 20th century
This is a new work by Sung, Ki Woong, the recipient of the 4th DOOSAN Artist Award.
Sung continuously explores the mother tongue (Korean language) in a theatrical and cultural ways, by visually manifesting the
Korean language of 1930s, reading the original sentences from the original novel, and re-enacting old Seoul dialect in works like
‹Our Joyful Young Days›, ‹A Day in the Life of Kubo, the Novelist›, and ‹Karumegi›. Through the form of gags and radio dramas,
this work explores the daily life and troubles of artists such as Park, Tae Won and Lee Sang and others at the end of the
Japanese colonial rule in 1930s.
