This is a new work by Youjin Seol, the recipient of the 12th DOOSAN Artist Award in 2021. Seol eliminates as many traces of the theater as possible before rearranging characters, sounds, lights, and objects in her own way. The conception of Where life fled, you were there began from a place of having experienced and survived disaster as well as a contemplation on concerns surrounding how performing arts are used today. In a world where freedom and love have fled, Seol questions whether it would be possible to find them again through the “work of writing poetry.”
